Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT) is seeking an?Education Officer (Maternity Cover)?to lead the delivery of our education and public engagement programmes. This is a fixed-term role, from?27 October 2025 to 27 April 2026 ?(with potential extension to up to 12 months), providing an exciting opportunity to inspire children, young people, and the wider community about the Isle of Man’s unique biodiversity.
What you’ll do:
Deliver curriculum-linked education sessions to schools across the Island.
Coordinate the?Laa Feie Manninagh (Manx Wild Day)?for all Year 5 pupils at the Outdoor Learning Centre.
Develop resources supporting the Manx Curriculum, Eco-Schools, and UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man.
Lead public events, youth engagement programmes, and ‘paid-for’ education sessions.
Line manage part-time education staff and volunteers, and act as MWT’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in education, outdoor learning, or environmental engagement.
Knowledge of ecology, wildlife, and conservation.
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Full driving licence and willingness to work outdoors in varied conditions.
Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Ideally, first-aid trained or the willingness to undertake first-aid training.
