AstroPay is looking for a strategic and detail-driven Rewards Specialist to lead the delivery of payroll and benefits across our globally distributed workforce of 200+ employees and contractors, spanning 14 countries. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring seamless on-boarding and exit processes while upholding compliance with local employment regulations across jurisdictions—including the UK, EU, and Brazil. Knowledge of government platforms and tax systems such as eSocial and FGTS (Brazil), BPS (Uruguay), NEST (UK), and ITIP/NI (Isle of Man) is essential. This role demands precision, discretion, and strong cross-border expertise to manage a complex web of employment types and statutory frameworks.
Reporting to the People Operations Lead, you'll collaborate with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders to execute multiple payroll cycles, manage diverse banking accounts, and ensure timely and accurate compensation delivery. You’ll bring at least 3 years' experience in global reward operations, with a solid foundation in employment law and regulatory reporting. Your fluency in navigating multi-country payroll systems and vendor relationships such as Deel and Hibob will drive operational excellence while contributing to AstroPay’s dynamic and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Process:
Ensure that all employees and contractors are paid appropriately consistent with labour and contractual obligations and on time.
Submit payroll concepts to show any benefits/retentions by employees.
Ensure that all employees and contractors have payslips and invoices specific to their employment contract.
Be the first point of contact for any payroll providers the company contracts with.
Benefits:
Centrally manage the benefits for all employees across all jurisdictions.
Manage vendors related to employee benefits.
Constantly improve and simplify the benefit process.
Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure all employee/contractor documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
Maintain detailed records of changes in employees compensation or benefits.
Stay informed about regulatory changes and updates in the jurisdictions covered, adapting processes and policies as necessary.
On-boarding and off-boarding process.
Ensure that all employees/contractors hired by the company have required documents in time.
Ensure that we comply to all labour legislations when on-boarding or off-boarding employees.
Streamline the on-boarding process to guarantee effective process for hiring across all locations.
Team Coordination and Training:
Provide guidance and support employees and managers around their compensation and benefits.
Support queries related to employee/contractor compensation/benefits.
Data-Analytics and AI Responsibilities:
Ensure that we leverage technology to support employees and managers in submitting benefit changes.
